Things to do in the Outer Banks: (𝙎𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙛𝙪𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙫𝙚𝙡𝙨) 🏝𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐆𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐧: On the way to the Outer Banks, you will pass the Island of Manteo, which has a lovely English-inspired garden. Take a stroll through the well-manicured landscape and enjoy the fresh air! 🏝𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐢𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬: The Outer Banks is a long chain of islands, stretching for 175 miles. There is so much to explore! Just FYI... the further you get from the bridge overpass, the less touristy it becomes. 🏝𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐲 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐮𝐧𝐞𝐬: Jockey’s Ridge State Park, in Nags Head, is the largest living sand dune on the USA Atlantic Coast. Activity ideas: Hiking, kite flying, sandboarding, hang gliding, or picnicking. 🏝𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭 𝐚 𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞: There are 5 lighthouses in the Outer Banks, each unique and beautiful. During the Spring and Summer months, they are open to walk through and view from the top. 🏝𝐑𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐛𝐢𝐤𝐞𝐬: There are many places to rent bikes or you can bring your own! There are several bike paths, set apart from the road, to safely ride along and explore the island. 🏝𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥: This memorial sits on the very place where the first airplane in history took flight! There is a monument built in honor of the Wright Brothers, life-size statues representing the moment of take off, walking paths to each landing of the first 3 flights, and an indoor museum. 🏝𝐆𝐨 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡: There are so many beautiful beaches from Ocracoke all the way to Corolla. You can explore a new beach every day! 🏝𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐇𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐓𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬: Corolla Beach is preserved for wild horses that have lived on the island for centuries. There are many wild horse tours available to see the horses in their natural habitat.
