Outer Banks Family Vacation Cost Breakdown

𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙢𝙪𝙘𝙝 𝙙𝙤𝙚𝙨 𝙞𝙩 𝙘𝙤𝙨𝙩?💰When I hear about people going on vacation, I’m always curious how much they spent so that I can gauge how possible that vacation would be for my family🤔 It’s one of those things that you don’t want to come right out and ask, but would be really helpful to know. So today, we want to be completely transparent with you. Here is a break down cost of our recent trip to the Outer Banks🏝 When we travel, we try to be as frugal as possible but still get the most out of each experience (𝐒𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐮𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐥 𝐭𝐢𝐩𝐬!) 𝐎𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐬: 4 days/3 nights for a family of 5 💙Airbnb for 3 nights (3 bedroom house) $804 💙Food (out to eat for 2 meals, groceries for all other meals) $130 💙Gas for 7 hr drive round trip $40 💙One day bike rental X5 $65 💙Mini Golf X5 $40 💙Lighthouses $Free 💙Wright Bro Memorial (entered by bike) $Free 💙Jockey’s Ridge State Park- sand dunes $Free 💙Picnic at Historic Whalehead $Free 💙Beach $Free 𝐓𝐎𝐓𝐀𝐋: $1,079 *As you can see, we found many free activities and saved a lot of money by buying our own food. We packed a lunch 🥪🍎every day before we left the house and put it in a cooler in our car for later, then made very simple dinners in the evenings when we went back to the rental. The lighthouses have an admission fee to go to the top, but we didn’t go inside this trip, just walked around the grounds. The biggest expense was definitely the house rental🏠 It was only $150 a day to start but after the cleaning fee, service fees, and taxes it quickly added up. All in all, we had 4 full days of fun activities for a reasonable price.
