Prioritizing Family Travel Over Material Possessions
For several years my husband and I have set aside money for traveling as a family, but the last 3 years we’ve made it even MORE of a priority!✈️ We love the quality time it gives our family to be together and just enjoy life.
.
In order to travel as often as we do, it takes sacrifices in other areas. We don’t eat out very often or spend a lot of money on clothes and other material things. I cut/color my own hair and my family’s hair. A lot of the decorations and furniture in our home are from garage sales or secondhand stores that I’ve redone, or I found on sale somewhere. We’re just not very extravagant when it comes to things!
.
Recently we bought a home 🏡 (which we are so excited about and absolutely love) but even then, we had to ask ourselves if we could still travel with that mortgage payment🤔 We crunched the numbers and made sure it would all work before making the decision. We wanted to weigh it all out and make sure we could keep traveling and making these wonderful family memories a priority. Our kids are growing up fast and this time together is everything!
.
So if you are wondering how you can travel more, find areas in your day-to-day life where you can be more frugal. Also set aside a certain amount of money consistently every month, even if it’s just a small amount. It will add up over time and be so worth it! Forgo the big purchases that will hold you back from your goals. You will be so happy you did!🙌
