Moving Adventures Amid the Covid Housing Craze

Well… we did it >> we moved! One of the most unexpected twists of Covid is what it has done to the housing market. I don’t know about where you live, but in North Carolina home prices are CRAZY high!😳 People aren’t moving as often due to the pandemic, which means there are just not enough homes available. The demand for homes is so high that people are willing to pay over the asking price to outbid each other. Plus they can’t build new homes fast enough because of a shortage in building materials. What a mess! Renters, like us, are especially vulnerable. Rental properties are being sold for extremely high prices and leaving renters scrambling to find another place. We lived in our rental for 3 years and then randomly got a call from our landlord that he was putting it on the market and it sold within a week. Just like that, our whole world flipped upside down and we were left to find another place, with very few options available. Thank goodness we found another rental closeby😅 What a whirlwind!
