Choosing Between Driving or Flying for Family Trips
Drive or Fly? Here are the 4 things we consider when planning a trip…
🛣️Distance: If it takes more than 8 hrs to drive, we will typically book a flight. With that said though, we do like to take an extra long road trip at least once a year and of course some trips are only accessible by plane.
⌚️Time: How much time do we have and how much time can my husband take off work? If time is limited then flying is sometimes the better option even if it costs more.
🛑Stops: Is this a single destination trip or do we want to see several places along the way? Road trips are a great way to explore more than one location and really make it an epic trip!
💲Cost: Flying a whole family can get expensive, so driving is a great option if it’s not too far! We usually check google flights first, in case there’s a great deal. We also consider all of the other things listed above to make our decision. We like to save credit card points only for flights that are far away.
