Tips for Travel with a Chronic Illness ✈️ ✨
If you didn't know I myself am a spoonie & have been dealing with chronic health issues for over 10+ years now. I have gastroparesis, chronic migraine, IBS, and probably a few other things lol.
Although exploring when dealing with chronic health issues can present challenges, I never want it to hold me back from my passion of travel. So here are some ways I help myself!
💜 Have all your medicine in a organizer to keep things easy, & it makes it harder to forget something
💜 If you have stomach issues, avoid your big trigger foods, and try eating foods you typically do well with
💜 Allow time to rest, I love waking up doing an acitivity, then I take time to rest in the afternoon before going out for dinner
💜 Make sure to bring emergency medication, I always have nausea pills & pepto bismol with me
💜 If you don't already, add vitiamin C into your mix before & during travel
💜 Listen to your body, know it's okay to chnage plans if you start to feel bad! You can always have a relaxing substitute just in case!
