I have always had a passion for photography but never knew how to follow that passion. I was afraid of failing in my creative endeavors. When I first moved to Denver, I joined a group on Facebook that was for girls who were looking for friendships in the city. I had to put myself out there by joining a meetup where I knew nobody, but I ended up meeting two girls who are now my best friends. I wouldn't have been able to meet these girls had I not been using Facebook Groups.
These girls, like me, are both passionate about photography. We have helped each other create by planning photoshoots, and content trips. We are able to learn from each other new photography skills.
By having encouraging friendships, I was able to start posting my own photos on Instagram, giving me a place where I can not only share my content but get helpful feedback from my community. This feedback helps me push the envelope on what style of photography I create by getting to try new things through the inspiration that is shared with me through comments and direct messages.
Before having an uplifting community of people, I let the fear of not being good enough stop me. I believed that in order to post photography you had to be perfect. But I now have the courage to follow my passion.
