Tips for Traveling Solo in 2023

🚨 Spoiler alert 🚨 Traveling alone can be a truly liberating experience. ✨ If you’ve thought about traveling solo, save these tips to help make your dream a reality in 2023. 👇 1. Don’t worry about being alone. Traveling alone does not mean you have to be alone the entire time. It’s much easier to meet people and you find yourself saying hello or asking questions to complete strangers that end up being great friends. In addition to that, traveling solo can help you clear your mind and learn more about yourself. So think of the alone time as a blessing rather than something to be worried about. 2. Plan your trip with confidence. If it’s your very first time traveling solo, I recommend joining an organization like @worldpackers . They have exciting opportunities around the world waiting for you. This is my personal favorite way to travel solo! ☀️ 3. Prioritize your safety. Download google maps offline in case you get lost, share your location with a family member or close friend back home, do research on where you are going so you can pack accordingly, be mindful with who you connect with and don’t share where you are staying with strangers. If you decide to travel solo without doing a work exchange experience, consider booking through @airbnb or @hostelworld to find safe, cozy places to base yourself. 4. Stay connected. I usually purchase a local SIM card or portable wifi router. 😊 5. Believe in yourself and have fun! Traveling solo (especially the first time) can be terrifying. You might want to cancel your trip or turn back as soon as you arrive. DON’T. (Unless of course for obvious health/ safety reasons). Give it time. Give yourself the chance to have an experience of a lifetime!! 💫 Have you ever traveled solo? What would you add to this list?? ___
