Hiking to Lago di Sorapis in the Dolomites

Looking for one of the most beautiful lakes in the Dolomites? Welcome to Lago di Sorapis 😍 Lago di Sorapis is famous for its intense blue color, which is created by the fine rock dust brought down from the like-named glacier whose spring and summer meltwater form this lake. How cool is that?! I loved doing this hike with my @vessi 100% waterproof shoes so that I didn’t have to worry about walking in wet sneakers because honestly, what’s worse than that?! #ad #FallingforVessi 👟 More about Lake Sorapis ⤵️ 🗂️| SAVE this to your Dolomites folder! 🥾 GETTING THERE: Starting from the Tre Croci Pass, take track n° 215. The hike runs through a beautiful forest, with views onto the mountain groups including the famous Tre Cime di Lavaredo. 🚐 WHERE TO STAY: We rented a camper van from @indie_campers and parked just across the street from the starting point of the walking path to Lago di Sorapis. It was perfect! Alternatively, there is a hotel right there or I would recommend booking an airbnb nearby, like in Cortina d’Ampezzo. ⏰ HOW LONG IT TAKES: The entire hike takes about 4 hours (there and back) and is 11.5 kilometers (about 7 miles) 🎒WHAT TO BRING: Bring plenty of water and snacks! There is a rifugio you can also buy food and drinks from when you get there and be sure to bring cash because they don’t accept card! ✍️ THINGS TO NOTE: The hike is considered medium difficulty and after an initial flat part, it becomes more difficult, with a number of metal ladders and some exposed sections along a flat ledge, equipped with metal cables. Be prepared :) Questions about Lake Sorapis? Drop them in the comments below and I’d be happy to help! 🤗 Have you been to the Dolomites yet or are they on your list?? ⛰️✨ _____
