3 Places for Peak Fall Foliage in the Northeast

3 places to add to your fall foliage bucket list 🍂🍁 📌Peak might be over, but SAVE this post for future planning! After spending a few days ‘leaf peeping’ this month, I discovered these 3 places you don’t want to miss on your next fall trip! Read to the end for a bonus tip 🤗 NEW YORK: New York, especially the Adirondacks, is a beautiful place to visit in fall. I highly recommend hiking Indian Head Trailhead and visiting Lake Minnewaska State Park. VERMONT: Did you know forests cover 70% of Vermont? It has the highest concentration of maple trees in the country, making fall in Vermont truly special. NEW HAMPSHIRE: Visiting New Hampshire in the fall is a foliage lover’s dream come true. Take a scenic drive through the White Mountains and enjoy incredible hikes with stunning views across the state. Tip: Leaves change earlier the more north you go, so start your trip in New Hampshire, then make your way through Vermont and end in NY. You can use the Fall Foliage Prediction map on https://smokymountains.com/fall-foliage-map/ to find the most up-to-date visual planning guide to the annual progressive changing of the leaves, since it changes every year! However, a rule-of-thumb I learned from locals in Vermont is that the first week of October (around Colombus Day) is when peak usually occurs. What would you add to this list? ✨ . . . . . . .
