A serene and tranquil scene of a traditional Tlingit canoe resting on the shores of a lake or inlet in Juneau, Alaska. The canoe, adorned with vibrant colors and intricate designs, sits partially submerged in the shallow waters, its prow pointed towards the vast expanse of the water body. In the distance, majestic snow-capped mountains rise majestically, their peaks piercing the vibrant blue sky. The waters of the lake or inlet are a distinct shade of brown, a result of glacial flour from a nearby glacier. The overall scene exudes a sense of peace, adventure, and connection with nature.

📍Juneau, Alaska In a traditional themed Tlingit Canoe, we paddled ourselves four miles round trip to Mendenhall Glacier. It was a great experience to say the least. The current and cool winds gave us a difficult time reaching our end point, making it an even greater workout! We were able to see icebergs (broken off peices of the glacier) all around us on our journey. If you guys notice how brown the water is, it's due to "glacial flour", basically run off from the glacier. The main body of the glacier actually grinds the Earth up so fine it turns into a flour like substance, voiding all life in the lake.
