It's kau kau time! In Hawaii, kau kau (pronounced cow-cow) means to eat or food in pidgin slang. As soon as our @kaukaubox was delivered, we dug in and devoured these mouthwatering coconut pistachio bars! Kau Kau Box provides a variety of fresh, local ingredients from farmers, fishermen, and chefs on Oahu and it’s delivered straight to your doorstep! Each box consists of chef prepared meats, starches, and desserts, freshly baked bread, seafood: day of boat-fish from local fishermen, fresh produce from local farms, and a dozen local eggs. Every week, they offer new items on the menu (April menu is available on their website). For $135 per box, there is enough food for at least eight meals! Here’s what we had inside our Kau Kau Box - Meats: Sicillian Style Ragout with Beef Short Ribs, Italian Sausage, and Meatballs in a Rich Tomato Sauce + Grilled Her Chicken Starch: Parmesan Mashed Yukon Gold Potatoes + Lemon Parsley Jasmine Rice Soup: Sweet Ewa Corn Chowder Dessert: Coconut Pistachio Bars Bread: Freshly Baked French Country Load with Pumpernickel Product: Aloun Farms Vegetables Fresh Fish: Fresh Day Boat Fish Uncooked Starch: Fresh Hand Cut Pasta Eggs: 1 Dozen Local Eggs from Eggs Hawaii #KauKauBox #kaukauboxchallenge https://kaukauboxnow.com . . . . .
