Now more than ever is the perfect time to support local. There's no better way by starting with the backbone for our way of life that allows us to live on with nutrition and energy; it starts with our local farmers. Purchasing and eating local, supports our local community and keeps it thriving during this time of turmoil. @foodlandhi makes it easy by having local produce ready for curbside pickup or delivery.
One way we are staying staying healthy is by starting the day with a green juice smoothie. This is the only way Landon (our son) eats greens, he loves this drink! Here is the ingredients for this batch:
• local organic spinach
• local organic apple banana
• fresh blueberries
• frozen mangoes
• fresh strawberries
• sambazon acai juice
• chia seeds
Other ways to support local farmers is by supporting programs like CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) or shopping at a farmers markets - fun fact for locals: Ewa Beach farmers market is currently a covid-19 on-site screening and testing center if you feel the need to get tested.
There are many local farms providing in Hawaii, one of them being @maoorganicfarms. The less travel our fruits and vegetables go through, the less probable of the virus being on them. We aren't scientist or claiming you can avoid corona entirely by shopping local. It’s just great side-benefits of sourcing your foods locally: supporting your community, healthier-organic options, and less travel time from farm to table.
Stay safe everyone - sanitize!!! 🧼👐 #HDOAEatLocal #EatLocalToday #Sponsored
