It's kau kau time! In Hawaii, kau kau (pronounced cow-cow) means to eat or food in pidgin slang. As soon as our @kaukaubox was delivered, we dug in and devoured these mouthwatering coconut pistachio bars! Kau Kau Box provides a variety of fresh, local ingredients from farmers, fishermen, and chefs on Oahu and it’s delivered straight to your doorstep! Each box consists of chef prepared meats, starches, and desserts, freshly baked bread, seafood: day of boat-fish from local fishermen, fresh produce from local farms, and a dozen local eggs. Every week, they offer new items on the menu (April menu is available on their website). For $135 per box, there is enough food for at least eight meals! This dish makes me wanna dance - we LOVEEEE seafood boil! 🦞🦀🦐 i think @reid.hicks really did bust a move after tasting my very first homemade seafood boil! 😝 it’s true what they say, there really is no measuring to this dish - you add seasonings as you go. Here are the ingredients I used: 🦞zatarain’s crab boil in a bag or 2 tbsp liquid crab boil 🦐 2 tbsp old bay seasoning 🌱 4 bay leaves 🧄 lots of minced garlic + 5 tbsp garlic powder 🍋 2 tbsp lemon pepper 🧂 2 tbsp sweet paprika 🍃 2 tbsp dried parsley 🧅 1 onion, sliced 🧈4 sticks unsalted butter 🍋 lemon + juice 🌶 1 tsp slap ya mama (optional for spice) 🦀 shrimp, crab legs, corn, and anything else you wanna add!
