Galungan Celebration in Bali

• It’s that festive time of year again! 🎉 Galungan has arrived here in Bali—my absolute favorite celebration of the year. This holiday, which happens twice annually, marks the victory of dharma (good) over adharma (evil). It’s a time when ancestral spirits are believed to visit the earth, and everyone decorates their homes with beautiful penjor (like these in the photos), tall bamboo poles with offerings. This vibrant celebration lasts for 10 days, with rituals, prayers, and family gatherings filling the air with joy. Every corner of the island becomes a burst of color and tradition! If you’ve never been to Bali during Galungan, I can’t recommend it enough. It’s such a colorful, lively time with incredible energy all around the island. If you’re planning a trip, try to visit during this celebration for a truly unforgettable experience. Have you been here for Galungan before? If not, who would you bring to Bali to experience it with you? Tag someone you’d love to share this moment with! Here are some of my favorite Galungan moments. 🙌 Gear Used: @SonyAlpha 7IV & the @TamronAmericas 28-75mm & 70-300mm
