Ancient Rock-Cut Temple Carved Into Cliff

It’s hard to believe places like this exist. It’s even harder to believe that this was built 1000 years ago. 📍 Gunung Kawi is an 11th-century temple and is comprised of 10 rock-cut shrines that are carved into 23 ft sheltered niches of the sheer cliff face. These funeral monuments are thought to be dedicated to King Anak Wungsu of the Udayana dynasty and his favourite queens.
