Tips for Instagram Creators Adapting to Changes

I know there are a lot of photographers and creatives out there that are getting annoyed at the changes that Instagram has been making, first it’s not a photo platform and now there’s TikTok which may or may not becoming more popular and Instagram is focusing on reels to keep up with it. HERE ARE SOME TIPS 1. Don’t overwhelm yourself by thinking you have to create 1 million reels. You don’t. Instead, focus on watching some until you find a couple that make you laugh or think you have something to add to it. Save them for later to eventually use as inspiration to make a reel yourself. 2. Everything else you’ve been doing is still important. Post in your feed, post in your stories, and use hashtags that are relevant to your niche. 3. Don’t forget to make your Instagram like a mini website. There’s no point in doing all the hard work of marketing and making sure that you’re seen if you don’t have a way to capture your audience once they find you. Use the highlights as mini website sections, and make sure your link in bio has something enticing in it to make your ideal audience want to click. Preferably have some kind of drip campaign in place to keep in touch with them automatically once they find you. 4. Sharing is everything. I forget to do this very often but if you’re going to go through the trouble of creating content, make sure that you share it on multiple platforms such as Pinterest and Facebook and Twitter, and maybe even YouTube as well. While different platforms have different types of content, some of them carryover quite well and ultimately can give you more exposure and push to the original form of content on your Instagram page. 5. don’t be afraid to ask for help. Whether that’s getting together with a fellow creative and brainstorming some great ideas, or hiring a social media professional to give you a boost or maybe even manage a bit of the marketing for you, help is all around and we all could use a little bit of it. I hope this helps – save it for later and happy creating!
