Just me choosing violence today š Wedding content creators are vendors that come on a wedding to capture photo/video content with a behind-the-scenes style. š± They shoot on an iphone, so nothing fancy and ideally nothing obtrusive āļø Why are photographers and videographers freaking out about wedding content creators? Well, there are a few good reasons: 1ļøā£ wedding content creators typically deliver their content in 24-48 hours, which is intimidating for photogs who typically take weeks to deliver full galleries + months to edit a film. 2ļøā£ they can be fairly obtrusive and inexperienced with weddings, esp if theyāre not familiar with working with a photo/video team and can hurt what they have to produce. 3ļøā£ a lot are concerned theyāll take the jobs of a wedding photographer and videographer, esp at the lower price point they offer. ā
But hereās what I think: 1ļøā£ Itās not the same polished product thatās being delivered. Plus, with rapidly evolving AI editing, professional photo delivery times are going to drastically reduce so there wonāt be such a difference. But all it takes is a good convo, potentially before the wedding, with a content creator to come up with a game plan so that no one is in anyoneās way and none of the products that weāre all trying to make are hindered. 3ļøā£ I spoke to @beckypearlatx from @pearleventsaustin yesterday about this and she agrees that professional wedding photography & videography is not going anywhere bc it is a completely different product than what a wedding content creator provides. š Wedding photo & video friends, donāt be the person that is standing still, stomping their foot while the industry is moving forward. The wedding industry is evolving rapidly and you can either find a way to work with the changes or be someone whoās difficult to work with, and shoot yourself in the foot. šTIP: Work w/ them to get you bts content or collab on posts featuring the couple! #weddingcontentcreator
