SHOULD You Expose for Highlight OR Shadows?? (WHICH IS BETTER?)

Which is better when you don't want to blow out highlights and get an even, natural exposure for natural light portraits? WHICH IS BETTER? SHOULD You Expose for Highlight OR Shadows?? Here's a family photo session to spot the difference. Hope you enJoy!
