Mental Health for YouTubers

When people ask if they should be a YouTuber too… ummmm how’s your mental health? 😜 - 😱 When @youtube asked for my approval to feature me last month, they sent along “creator safety” guidelines which were all about mental health and staving off mean comments with the pending influx of traffic. - Here’s the secret 🤫 mean comments are few, but they do live rent free in my head longer than the positive ones. I hate it but I couldn’t control how I felt so I did two things: 1️⃣ Gave my virtual assistant the job of deleting nasty comments before I could see them. Mind you, I don’t delete opposing view points, I simply have her delete ones that are a direct attack on me or sexually inappropriate. 2️⃣ I prioritize responding to my PHOTO INSIDERS community first so that I bathe my headspace in a positive environment before addressing a somewhat hostile one (if I address them at all). It’s not only helped me feel better but I’m giving my energy and attention to those that want it for the right reasons vs the jerks that don’t deserve it. - Message me the words “photo insiders” if you want more information on that community. - I have so much love for all of you that say nice things for me to concentrate on when I’m down about the mean ones. ☺️ - And no the tagged people didn’t say these things to me, they’re just people I know who get it! -
