Full Circle Moment at Photography Trade Show
This week was an insanely special one for me. Really, beyond words. •
About 16 years ago I walked into my first tradeshow ever, @photoplusofficial. I’d never been so excited and I remember practically skipping through the aisles and photography magic.
One of the VERY FIRST people I saw speak was @joebuissink and @denisreggie, all on the Canon stage or @canonusa sponsored talks on the tradeshow floor. I remember hearing the lenses and settings they were using and I just devoured the information and applied it to my work. •
Fast forward to this week and I had the incredible honor of being on that same Canon stage teaching at the same trade show. I think for the very first time I understood that “humbled” feeling, which I typically hate when people use. •
But as I was up there explaining my lens choices and settings this overwhelming feeling came over me... hard to describe but it was a combination of “lest you forget” you we’re in those seats not long ago and now I’m one of the photographers tasked with the responsibility of inspiring and passing on photography to others. And with that comes the need to push past negativity, take compliments with a grain or salt, ignore those that bring me down and hold close the ones that truly support and encourage me. •
This week was one of those full circle moments and I’m beyond grateful for what I’ve had the opportunity to do. Special thanks to everyone at @canonusa, @adorama and @profotousa for trusting me with educating other photographers and representing their brand. •
