Embracing Reality in Photography
Call me crazy but I like reality. Now don’t get me wrong, all of my clients get complimentary retouching on any images they put in their albums, but almost NONE of them take me up in it. In fact, I’d say maybe .01% of the photos you see here have any retouching at all on them. I’m also totally ok with retouching blemishes and whoopsies and makeup fixes, and definitely a filter on my face in lieu of needing to put on makeup (who has the time?!) and all of that. But when see changing bone structure, facial feature sizes, and altering permanent characteristics… common… this is the kind of stuff that contributes to the perfect expectation of humans that’s unobtainable and mentally damaging to a lot of people. So… high five to all of the photogs that capture and show reality, and to all of the viewers that love it.
