⬇️⬇️ 📸 on-camera flash settings 📸 ⬇️⬇️ . Flash can be CONFUSING so @janawilliamsphotos and @vanessajoy are breaking it down for you with our preferred settings. ⚠️ IMPORTANT: flash settings, or any camera settings, are absolutely determined by the ambient or natural light in the area so it can vary greatly. Feel free to tell us your go to camera settings for your on camera flash in the comments. . 📸 FLASH SETTINGS BASICS 1️⃣ set your exposure for how you want the background to look. Do you want a dark background? Then lower your ISO or raise your aperture. Want a bright background? Raise your ISO or lower your aperture. 2️⃣ your flash battery life and recycle time are greatly determined by how hard you are making your flash work. If you have stopped down settings like a lower ISO or closed down aperture then your flash is going to have to work harder, making your batteries, die faster, and potentially having misfires while your flash recycles its power. 3️⃣ the lower your shutter speed, the more ambient light you will let in, and you can adjust that without adjusting your flash, so that the background light can get brighter or darker without your flash having to adjust.
