Save this if you plan to travel with your little one! One of the most frequent questions I get asked is how it works when you want to take a pram and a car seat on holiday abroad. It really is quite straight forward! Ryanair and easyJet both allow you to take two check in items whereas Wizz will charge extra to check in a carseat. ✈️ This subtropical island is less than a four hour flight from the UK! Madeira is a beautiful Portuguese island with some really impressive sights. 🏠 The capital Funchal is a great place to base yourself with its many affordable room options, lots of restaurants and access to various bus routes. 🌲 There are many hiking trails with breathtaking views and lush waterfalls. With difficulty levels for everyone, this is a great free activity for hard core trekkers to novice families with young children. 🐟 Explore the many quaint towns and try some local seafood. Câmara de Lobos was our favourite town, make sure to try the local favourite, black scabbard fish. 🏖 Enjoy a day at the beach. Seixal beach has a really dramatic back drop and was our favourite. Calheta beach is a white sand beach which is great for families, with a playground and bar/cafe next to it. 🥪 Skip restaurants at lunch time and look out for a local favourite ‘Bolo do Caco’ - this traditional bread is filled with all sorts of delicious fillings and makes for a tasty and cheap meal. So you've found your cheap @Skyscanner flights, but then clock the extortionate luggage prices... Did you know it's quite easy to travel without needing to pay for additional baggage?! ᵃᵈ Budget airlines allow you to bring a free 'personal item' on board, and there are no limits on shopping bags from the airport. Each passenger, including children, gets their own rucksack. Over time the £100's you save on luggage really adds up. Would you consider travelling like this?! Let us know!
