When people see pictures of this place they instantly think of the Maldives! But lucky for us, it’s a lot closer to home (if you live in Europe that is 😅) Ksamil is a small village on the Albanian Riviera. It has been growing in popularity over the last few years and for very good reason. The beaches are absolutely amazing, the food is delicious and you can travel here on a really tight budget. We were drinking pints of beer for £1.50 🍻 Eating delicious seafood for less than £10 🦐 and our two bedroom apartment with sea view was less than £35 per night! I’ll be posting more about our trip in the coming days.
If you’re looking for white sand, crystal turquoise sea and great prices - Ksamil in Albania is a great budget friendly holiday option. Top things to know: ✈️ Fly in to Corfu and get the ferry to Sarande. Alternatively fly to Tirana and drive 4 hours to Ksamil. 🍺 Key fact: you can get a pint for £1.50. 😃 The locals are very welcoming of tourists, we didn’t have any safety concerns whilst there. 🗓️ We visited in May when the beaches were almost empty and the weather was good. May, June and September will be much less busy than July and August. 🏛️ There’s more than just beaches. The ancient city of Butrint is just 5 minutes away on the bus. 🍝 Restaurant meals from as little as £2.50. 🏠 Our two bedroom apartment was £35 per night.
I don’t want to hear anyone saying the UK isn’t absolutely stunning 😆🤩 We spent last summer housesitting along Englands south coast. It was £99 for the membership and then all our accommodation was free (link to the site we use in my bio). This beach was in Cornwall but we travelled along the coast and found SO many insanely beautiful places! Where is your favourite beach in the UK?!
Have we found the best beaches in Europe?! Menorca is a beautiful holiday destination and despite it being smaller than its neighbouring islands of Mallorca and Ibiza, it has more beaches than the two combined! Hiring a car is a great way to explore as much of the island as possible. We found £65pp return flights on @Skyscanner ! An absolute bargain for travel in August ᵃᵈ
Menorca is a paradise island jam packed with the most amazing beaches. Often over shadowed by its livelier neighbours, Mallorca and Ibiza, it actually has more beaches than the two combined! ✈️ We spent a week there in August for just £1300 for the three of us, this included flights and our accommodation! ⛱️ The beach in this video is Macarelleta beach, one of many virgin beaches on the island. There are lots of scenic coastal walks connecting the beaches. 📝 I have written a blog post with everything you’ll need to plan a bargain trip to this amazing island (the link is currently in my link tree)
