Tips for Traveling with a Baby
✨ Top Tips for Traveling with your Baby ✨
Traveling with a baby is so much easier than it first seems. At this age they sleep a lot, aren’t mobile, their main requirements are eating, comfort and sleeping. Traveling with a toddler on the other hand - a whole other story! Suddenly they have the ability to disappear in a second and their main requirements include their spaghetti bolognaise being the perfect shade of red to not induce a melt down…
A lot of people say “I will wait until they are old enough to remember it” - but this is about your memories, and having a brilliant time with your cute little baby whilst they still aren’t causing too many problems 😅 (We love travelling with a toddler too, but it’s definitely 100 x harder!)
Flying with a baby:
✨ Under 2 can fly on your lap. This has a set price which includes a carry on bag for them (nappy bag or rucksack) plus two check in items (usually pram and car seat)
✨You have a seatbelt adjustment to put around their waist. Bring blankets to help get them comfy.
✨Dress them comfortably, a baby grow / sleep suit is perfect.
✨You can take as much liquid as you need onto the plane if it’s for the baby. We always took a flask of boiling water to easily make up a bottle of formula for take off and landing (leaving it enough time to cool down before giving it to him).
✨ If two people are travelling - pick a window seat and an aisle seat - it’s less likely someone will pick that middle seat (if the plane isn’t full) and that gives you a whole row to spread out!
