Our Low-Budget £2,000 Wedding
Lots of you have been asking how we kept to such a low budget with our wedding. We set our budget at £2000 in total, with our thinking being that any additional money we might have spent on a “big traditional wedding” will be better spent on a mega holiday / our house!
Our registry office ceremony was £225 and that was for an “enhanced personalized” service meaning we could choose our own music, wrote our own vows and could have our family do readings. It was really personal to us as a family and the castle backdrop of our location was perfect.
Our dinner was £35.95 per person for three courses at the beautiful @kelhamhouse, meaning the whole dinner for 10 adults with room hire included was £395.50 - an absolute bargain as the room, staff and the food were fantastic. We spent £90 on canapés which we had with welcome drinks.
We brought our own champagne / wine which we got at the duty free in France and spent £100 on corkage fees.
We spent £200 on our dried flowers and my bouquet which were arranged by the wonderful @amy_lennon_bouquets . We love that we can keep them on display in the house for years to come. Amy is just getting started with her business and is fantastic.
Our stationary, place names and sign were done by @porkypenguin who have some beautiful personalized wedding things.
We had our cake made for £55 by @la_creme.uk and @thedoughniebox made us some fantastic wedding favour boxes with the most delicious brownies.
Our wedding taxi was £100 for the hour and they decorated it for us with ribbon.
I did my own make up with help and guidance from the lovely @taliasparrowmakeup who was incredibly patient with my lack of skills!
My mum @kazal1722 did my hair. It was easy to make it look nice after I had my extensions done with @baddielockshairextensions 🤩
My dress was £30 and both of our rings were £100. Leo’s ring was João’s from when he was little.
The rest of the budget went on our wonderful photographer @veronica_c_photography and content creator @themysteryguestuk !
We had the most perfect day and wouldn’t change a thing!
