The Travel Mum
A small brown bat is tightly wrapped in a bright yellow knitted or crocheted blanket, its tiny face and pointed ears peeking out. The blanket provides a cozy and secure enclosure for the delicate creature. The bat's large, expressive eyes convey a sense of vulnerability and curiosity. A human hand gently cradles the bundled bat, offering warmth and protection. The vibrant yellow hue of the blanket contrasts beautifully with the bat's earthy tones, creating a striking and endearing visual. This image exudes a sense of tenderness and care for wildlife.

Medic's Jungle Adventure: Caring for Wildlife

The main reason I was in the jungle was to work as the medic for a research and conservation organisation, they do surveys looking at types of species / species numbers present in Calakmul. They collect data on all sorts of species (bats, reptiles, amphibians, butterflies, mammals, birds, plants) - and have high school students there assisting the biologists with the surveys - so lots of patients and LOTS to learn! I've been able to get involved with their work and have seen so many cool animals up close, like this little guy. šŸ‘ŒšŸ»ā¤ļøšŸ¦‡ . . .
