Ksamil in Albania has had some very mixed reviews over the years. I believe this comes down to when you visit. We absolutely loved our trip here and it was SO cheap (£190 for SIX nights in our apartment that slept 5!) I have a blog post on this trip over on the website, I’ve added a variety of great value accommodation on there. £1.50 pints 🍻 Less than £10 for seafood dishes 🦐 Gorgeous beaches ☀️ We visited in May when there were very few other people there. The town was just opening up and as you can see the weather was lovely. June seems to be another great time to go with less crowds and more now open. July and August seem to be chaotic - the town is far too small for the number of people who are flocking there and they start to charge extortionate prices for sun loungers given the demand. Have you been to Tenerife?! How did you find it? ✈️ We love the canary islands for a bit of winter sun, they all have their pros and cons, here’s our review of Tenerife. ☀️ Pros - (Almost) year round sun - Cheap winter flights - Best water park (in the world?!) - Good variety of resorts - Lively nightlife (PDLA) - Very catered to Brits (pro or con?) - Relatively short flight for winter sun (4 hrs) ❌ Cons - Very catered to Brits (lack of Spanish culture in many tourist areas) - “Boozy Brit” culture in some areas - Winter weather in the north can be windy and cool - Package holidays are expensive in winter (DIY bookings often much better value) - Relatively long flight time with little kids (4 hours) What were your thoughts on Tenerife?!
