The Travel Mum
A smiling woman wearing glasses and a striped shirt is standing on the tarmac in front of a Ryanair aircraft. She is carrying a small infant, likely her baby, in a front-facing baby carrier strapped to her chest. The baby appears content and relaxed. Behind the woman, a person can be seen walking with a piece of luggage, possibly her travel companion. The blue and yellow livery of the Ryanair aircraft is prominently displayed, indicating this is an image captured at an airport before or after a flight on the low-cost airline.

Baby's First Flight on Ryanair

Taking a 7 week old baby on a Ryanair flight was a bit nerve wracking, but ended up being easy. It was £25 each way to add an infant to your lap, that gives you two check in items (his pram and car seat) and a carry on nappy bag. We only checked the pram in just before boarding so that he could chill in there at the airport (we had a 4 hour wait because of delays) then I had the sling on hand for carrying him on and off the plane. I was worried his ears might hurt on take off and landing, but I had a dummy, my boobs and even some pre made formula in a bottle just incase my boobs decided to stop working (this has never happened but I was prepared for everything 🤣) so that he was sucking constantly to prevent the pressure build up. He’d never gone more than a few hours without having a complete breakdown about something, so I was prepared to be “that” woman with the screaming child, but he chilled out for the whole 3 hours! When we were getting off the plane, people around us commented that they hadn’t realised there was a baby in front of them as he was so quiet! He has been the most chilled out baby ever since (the flight fixed him 👌🏻). He was clearly just missing travel like his mama 😆 • • •
