Appreciating the Present Moment

✨ Such a pure moment 🙏🏻 We all get so caught up in the past and the future - worrying about things we did wrong, opportunities we missed - worrying about our futures, wondering how we will achieve the things we thought we would have by now. Everyone thinks “I’ll be happy when....” - when I get into uni, once at uni it becomes “I’ll be happy when I finish uni” - then when I start working, then when I find a partner, when I have a kid, when my kid is a bit older and stops being so needy... suddenly your children move out and now you miss them and you’ll be happy when you have grandkids ... it goes on and on and the goal post ALWAYS shifts, so that happiness becomes this thing in the future that you never actually have in the present. We rarely stop and just appreciate right now. It is literally the only thing that matters. In this clip we had just spent a day exploring and were on the train back to our base in Palermo, Italy. I captured the moment as I felt so blessed to be surrounded by my loving family, to have a healthy happy child, to be fit and healthy myself. For everyone to just be there so relaxed, content and present.. my heart felt so full. If we focus on being happy in the moment, and do this every day, we will live a happy life. If we are always caught up in yesterday and tomorrow - we will spend a life planning and never actually living. Just look around and think of three things that you have right now that are absolutely amazing ✨🙏🏻
