The Travel Mum

šŸ‘¶šŸ» Panicking about travelling with your baby?! Wondering how youā€™ll fit everything into your luggage. Donā€™t worry, itā€™s easier than you think! šŸ’¾ Save this post for when youā€™re off on your next adventure. First of all, make the most of their allowance. Using Ryanair and easyJet as common examples - you can take TWO baby items to put in the hold - this can be a pram, car seat, travel cot, baby back carrier. These hold items can be stored safely in travel bags. In this video you can see our car seat bag on JoĆ£oā€™s backā€¦ we put lots of baby clothes, a small pop up crib, nappies etc in there. As itā€™s going into the hold, you can put a few sneaky big liquids in there too (if you only have cabin baggage and are limited to 100ml bottles). We have done this many times, I havenā€™t seen any rules telling you not to do this, but as always, be discreet when bending the rules šŸ‘€ We check our car seat in at the desks and take our pram to the gate, as it makes the airport experience a lot easier. Once at the gate, or at the stairs to the plane, someone will take the pram from you to put in the hold. The baby is also allowed an under seat ā€˜changing bagā€™ - technically up to 5kg but we have never had these bags weighed. Iā€™ll often put a lot of my things in this bag, along with the baby items we will need on the plane. Iā€™ll do another video about things to definitely take on board with you. Babies really donā€™t need a lot of things. Their clothes are tiny, nappies can be bought anywhere and all of their big items can be checked in for free. Consider taking your own formula, especially if the baby needs something specific that might not be available abroad. You can order this to be collected from the airport boots, that way it will be in a carrier bag and not taking up any luggage space! Are you travelling with a baby soon?! Let us know! Our first trip with a baby and a child will be at the start of July šŸ˜āœˆļø #babytravel #babytraveltips #travelwithbaby #thetravelmum #flyingwithababy #familytravel
