Leo Turns 6!

Our son Leo turns 6 today! We’re having so much fun celebrating the gift he is in our lives.. even if that means enduring a couple hours inside a noisy Chuck E. Cheese’s with a herd of sugar-high grade schoolers. 😬 (FYI: Overpriced pizza served by a dancing mouse is not my favorite thing in the world.) . Unusually, we weren’t able to be there for Leo’s original birthday, as we were able to be for his sisters. We missed his birthday years one and two as well. Even though we spent the first 2.5 years of his life dreaming of him and praying for him, we weren’t yet able to look back into his gentle eyes and reassure him with a smile to express our love. . Today we can do all those things! God knows whether today or tomorrow technically marks the official beginning of his sixth year. But what really matters, God has reminded us through Leo not to take a single day for granted. . Even as he is dressed up today as Batman/Spider-Man, the little “Lion” behind that mask reminds me that the Lion of Judah is our true HERO, who has rescued and adopted us as His own children. The blessed life we live today is reason to celebrate! So pass the pizza and ice cream, large mouse mascot!
