Daughter Turns 5 with New Haircut

#regrann @eileen_blume - Last night I was getting pretty sentimental about my kiddos growing up. This sweet girl turns five today! She brightens our lives with her goofy sense of humor and uncanny impersonations, her patient mothering love toward her little sister who adores her, her strength and athleticism, her love for singing and her grace in dance, and her brilliant memory and deductive mind. She's a perfectionist and often hard on herself. She is a super "helper," always dropping what she is doing to take her great grandmothers by the hands to help them walk whenever they make a move. She loves to surprise us by making our bed or cleaning the house while we aren't watching. She thrives on positive reinforcement. She is meticulous and detail-oriented, and could be trusted even with small jewelry since she was a toddler. She's an artist, and paints or colors beautiful gifts for us most mornings. She is her father's fellow cinephile, and had a great attention span for movies and stories of all kinds -- retaining the storyline and picking up on subtle subplots with ease. She is a lover and a skillful peacemaker; she'll also fight for her sister on the playground if it comes down to it. She is a wonder and a true gift from God. We are humbled and thankful for the tremendous responsibility we've been given to raise her in the wisdom and admonition of the Lord. Oh, and she wanted me to cut her hair for her birthday today. This is her new 5-year-old look. So big!
