Young Gardener's Barefoot Delight

My little Barefoot Gardener. He climbed in on the freshly dumped dirt and sighed, “It just feels so good.” . . Today he put out seeds, planted some broccoli for his mom, and checked on his potatoes and garlic. He has a plan and doesn’t really want my input. Stubborn independence runs strong in this household. . . I love watching him develop his own “thing” and take ownership. I’m thinking as a little extra motivation I will “buy” his freshly grown stuff from him. A reward for his hard work to make sure he keeps with it? . . Anyone have a beautiful gardening book to recommend? A resource he can go to with beautiful pictures? Because then it’s not like he asked for help. He just knew where to look... ;)
