Whittling Through Morning Homeschool Routine

Morning time usually happens about twice per week around here. Life happens. Mom’s attitude happens. But this week we’re going on 3 of 3 days. And working on making it a habit. . Keeping their hands busy is the secret, and the big kids decided whittling was their next project. It kept them from complaining for about an hour and half, declaring it to be their longest morning time yet. . I bought cheap tools. The kids have no real plan. But isn’t that how they figure it out? . It got us through hymns, Bible reading, #classicalconversations memory work, poetry reciting, discussions about galaxies, and Grimm Fairy Tales. Here’s to figuring it out... and working in slow and steady, not aggressive rushing... in school work and wood work. . .
