Visiting Vicksburg National Military Park

“I learned that Vicksburg was real!” 😉 The Ranger questioned what my kid meant by that on her packet - to which she replied that she’d never heard of Vicksburg before. Counts as learning to me 😂 . On the Mississippi-Louisiana border, Vicksburg was one of the major Civil War battlefield sites and made for a good halfway stop coming back to Georgia. Honestly, battlefields aren’t super exciting to me, but the amount of land moved around to make battlements (in the 2nd pic) is always fascinating to me. Amazing dedication. . Watched the video. Drove the battlefield circle. Check. This super mom may have missed the turn to see the iron clad and not wanted to make the circle again to see it. Ug. I’ll just pretend that wasn’t one of the main reasons for me to go. 🤓
