Visiting Truman's Childhood Home

Do you know which president came from Missouri? We do! . . We drove past Harry S Truman’s childhood home several days ago in Lamar, Missouri and his post-presidential home in Independence, Missouri several days later. As the only Missouri president, he is mentioned in so many places we have visited. He even had an office at the Federal Reserve building we visited where they said he was a great guy. . . From what I’ve learned about him (a big step up from a level of nothing), Truman should be talked about more. He’s considered one our our most effective presidents - and served in WW1. He made the hard decision to bomb Japan to prevent further US deaths after moving into FDR’s presidential role after FDR’s sudden death in office. . . Here’s to my 13 year old kid who encouraged us to stop to learn because we need to know about more than just a few favorite American presidents. And now you know 🤓
