Vibrant Red Lichen Eruption on Rocky Landscape

It seems it only happens for a couple of months in the spring, and this was our first year seeing the diamorpha or Arabia Mountain. . . They avoided stepping on the lichen and moss to declare it beautiful as we traipsed over the rocks. It already changing to its little white flowers so don’t wait too long to go check it out. . . We went on a nature walk searching for lichens last week... and they were covering our walk today. And they remembered! . . So amazing. Dormant the rest of the year and looking like a sandy depression in the rock, and then spring comes and they erupt. I’m sure there’s something deep and relevant to the world there... analogy? ;)
