Reclaiming Wonders
A young person, wearing a colorful tie-dye sweatshirt and gray leggings, is standing at a skateboard park with a bright blue helmet on. They are holding an aquamarine-colored scooter, indicating they likely use it for riding at the park. The skateboard area has smooth concrete ramps and slopes in the background, as well as grassy hills surrounding the skate area. The scene appears to be at an outdoor recreational facility designed for activities like skateboarding, scootering, and BMX biking.

Unschooling Life Lessons

Anyone else having a hard time “doing school” when the sun is out?? I challenge you to put down your definition of school and see the life you’ve created! It’s so much more fun ;) . . We finished up The Button Wars on audiobook during the drive, briefly discussed WWI and the characters, drove around looking at old houses, listened to Story of the World on the way home —- at their request! Not to mention getting exercise and playing together and making a new friend at the skateboard park. . . The used bookstore trip afterward cemented to me that we’re doing something right. All we do for history is read good books. No real curriculum. My son went and found some “Who Was” biographies about some of the people he has learned about recently and my girl wanted more Magic Tree House. They love history on their own! . . Go live life and learn as you go. It still counts even if there wasn’t a single worksheet or textbook!
