Tips for Stress-Free Family Road Trips
Is this the year for your Great American Road Trip?! Spring Break and summer travels are gonna be here soon! Where are you headed?
You can do it!🚙🇺🇸🌎
The four kids and I have logged months in the mini-van while Dad worked at home. Texas to Yellowstone, Georgia to California, Georgia to Philadelphia… We’ve driven it! You could say I’ve learned some lessons along the way.
Here’s the truth.
We are not the family who
🥁sings along to folk songs or
🎒makes the little activity bags or
🖇️moves the little clip along the paper road or
🥬packs nutritious meals in our little cooler.
Road trips are stressful enough without all the unreasonable expectations and next “great idea”.
Figure out how to keep your sanity with the fussing and the “are we there yet?”. 😤😠😭
Wait, didn’t I say road trips are fun? 😀
Put on a movie.
Strap on their headphones.
And let them have some family giggles and shared stories and togetherness.
Kid movie party.🍿🎥📺
It doesn’t mean you’re missing out.
It doesn’t mean you’re lazy.
It means you’re realistic.
While they’ve been giggling their way through Little Rascals for the 13th time…
🍫You’re enjoyed some Mom-only snacks
And…
🇮🇹You’ve visited Italy during World War 2 or
🔫You’ve solved the latest murder podcast or
🎧You’ve jammed out to your grown up music
And…
😁You will arrive at the hotel in a better mood.
Because you know the loud and crazy only gets worse once they get in that confined space.
Aren’t road trips fun? 🤣
If your car doesn’t have a movie player, rig one up with the iPad or spent $100 to get one. It’s allowed!
