Reclaiming Wonders
The image depicts a wholesome outdoor scene with two women and two young boys engaged in artistic pursuits. They are seated on a large red blanket spread out on the ground amidst a grassy area with fallen leaves and twigs. One woman, wearing a teal tank top, is molding a blue ball of clay with her hands. Beside her, a young boy is also working with clay, his hands immersed in the reddish-brown material. On the other side of the blanket, a woman in a pink shirt is focused on drawing or writing on a piece of paper, while another young boy sits next to her, appearing to snack on something from a small plate nearby. The scene portrays a relaxed and creative atmosphere, with the group enjoying a simple yet enriching activity together in nature.

Outdoor Creative Pursuits with Family

Our national park trip two days ago to#okmulgeenationalpark has lead to so many other interests. Fun Mom bought clay since they were inspired by watching the pottery making video by the Native American woman. With dreams of making pottery for their house in the woods, l hoped this would push them back outside in the forest where they haven’t gone for a while. We’ve also been reading a book I just happened to have about the Creeks and the things we saw... as well as two other tribes. They begged to read it at breakfast today again, And it has launched discussions all day. The branches we gathered in the yard are on plan to be used to build a teepee or lean-to tomorrow. The sticks were harpoons and weapons. And guess what? These plans took them excitedly to check on their fort for the first time in several weeks. Score! Books go inside them. Inspire them. And get acted out in their real life play. So grateful daily that we get to do this #homeschool journey and go off on some unplanned learning. And they’re doing it together best of all.
