Montgomery Civil Rights History
The Civil Rights trip began a week ago in Montgomery with talking about the Selma to Montgomery March and the Dexter Avenue King Baptist Church a block away from the Alabama Capitol.
.
From this church, where Martin Luther King, Jr. preached for six years, he organized the Montgomery Bus Boycott and furthered the Civil Rights movement.
.
I had planned to drive to Selma and see the Pettis Bridge but time just didn’t allow. We continued to learn about them several times at the other museums we hit last week, so I’m considering the topic covered anyway 😉
.
I love showing them that MLK didn’t need the big and famous and fancy to make an impact!

Don’t miss the Rosa Parks Museum when you’re in town too! (Other post)
