Kids Learning About Marine Life on Tybee Island Beach

One if the many highlights of our days at #burton4hcenter in #tybeeisland was using the nets at the beach. They first taught us the different parts of the seashore, why and how the tides happen, and the parts of a fish - including a snazzy dog with hand motions about their different fin types. The kids took up their positions to work together tapping out the net and folding it up to capture sea life. And then they had to work together er without the guidance of the counsellors. Team work! Mostly they caught little fish, sea slime, shells, and a jelly fish. All enjoyed getting to fill their boots up with water in the surf. And all the dolphins! I haven’t ever seen that many dolphins at one time.
