Reclaiming Wonders
A young boy with blond hair, wearing a red t-shirt, is sitting at a wooden table outdoors, surrounded by lush greenery. He is intently focused on a board game spread out before him on the table. The game appears to be Splendor, a popular strategy game, as evidenced by the box visible on the table. Various card decks and game components are arranged on the table, with the boy carefully studying and manipulating them. It seems he is deeply engaged in playing and learning this strategic game, likely with family members. The outdoor setting provides a peaceful and natural backdrop for this educational gaming experience.

Homeschooling with Board Games

It’s all about games over here and for #hereisourhomeschool for today. We love games. But no matter how many we have, we tend to focus on some for awhile before moving on... . . Even if it means playing Splendor for the third time in a day! We recently taught the 8 year old who was younger than the recommended age on the box... and then the six year old caught on and it’s his current favorite. . . My suggestion: Don’t pay attention to the box recommendations! I’d much rather go slow at a harder game than play Chutes and Ladders... . . Other current favorites in rotation: Quixx Ticket to Ride Set And the ever present - mancala. . . I used to ask the big kids to play splendor with me... but I’m thinking after this run, I’m going to have to take a break. No matter how much I like it, playing several times a day does wear on a momma ;)
