Reclaiming Wonders
A young boy with short, light-colored hair is seated at a wooden table, focused intently on drawing on a piece of paper in front of him. He is wearing a red T-shirt and appears to be around 4 years old. On the table, there is an open spiral notebook with handwritten notes and a drawing of what seems to be a bird in blue and red colors. Colored pencils and crayons are scattered around, indicating an artistic activity underway. The setting appears to be a dining area or kitchen with a wooden banister visible in the background.

Four-Year-Old's Artistic Discoveries

I know some grandparents who have some very important mail coming their way. Sitting at breakfast, H came back in with paper announcing he needed to draw a cardinal. Then “copied” one out of a bird book. Very abstract and red. And then this afternoon declared he was now drawing a picture for Memma... very serious and focused. Complete with his “H4” he’s been signing recently This was a first for the kid who usually won’t sit still long enough. Nature study plus drawings plus narration. And who knew he could draw circle and color them in... or that he knows that a pear is? I wanted to keep the picture to commemorate but off it goes to Texas. We just have to make lots more ;) Here’s to four year olds who can identify cardinals! And our new hummingbird couple.
