Reclaiming Wonders
A young blonde girl is leaning against a railing, gazing out at the vast expanse of Loch Ness, a famous Scottish loch nestled amidst the rolling hills and mountains of the Highlands. The loch's deep blue waters stretch out before her, reflecting the cloudy sky above. In the distance, the opposite shoreline is visible, revealing the sheer scale of this legendary body of water. Large, craggy rocks protrude from the loch in the foreground, adding to the rugged, natural beauty of the scene. The girl is bundled up in a purple and white striped sweater, seemingly taking in the breathtaking panorama.

Exploring the Vastness of Loch Ness

The drive past Loch Ness and seeing how big it is... that’s when C declared, “No wonder they can’t find the monster!” The “lake ness monster” as the kids call it. 750 feet deep with continuous possibilities. We read about the monster in preparation. It was good for them to have something to plan for... even if this was it. So the hubs and I were here eight years ago... I don’t think I truly “saw”. I was there yes. I couldn’t have told you how big it was or what the land looked like or the town... just the tacky souvenirs in the gift shops with Nessie on them. Heck, I don’t think I had a clue what we were getting into and didn’t research or look at a map or anything. This five-years-homeschooling-mom laughs at that woman... who was she?! Teaching your kids opens your mind and teaches you so much... My eyes were closed to the world for way too long... and I didn’t realize it...
