Experiencing Cultures Near and Far Through Music
Don’t wait for travel - Take advantage of opportunities near you! Raising world-adventuring kids means teaching them an appreciation for the other cultures - even if it “only” happens near home.
Last week, the Yamma Ensemble beautifully taught us through traditional Jewish and Arabic music from their homeland of Israel. We heard so many new instruments at their excellent University of Georgia performance for youth. I love seeing adults eager to share their passion!
The group blew the shofar - a first for my family. This ram’s horn was the “trumpet” mentioned throughout the Bible, and during Rosh Hashanah, it calls the Jewish people to celebrate and reflect over the last year. For Christians today, it can call us to look forward to Jesus’ return. ❤️

👉Rosh Hashanah started yesterday. Did you see it on your calendar and wonder? Or just brush past it because you didn’t know? I hope you know now!
