Embrace the Homeschool Pause
Time out. You need it!
Whether it’s short term illness or new baby or family stress or or or…
Homeschooling gets put to the back burner. Schedules get cancelled.
We rest. And we feel guilty?!
I’m here to tell you that it’s okay rest.
Quit apologizing. You’ll survive.
👉After all, who are you apologizing to?
No school at our house means more time for following interests.
(And nagging Mom about leaving to play disc golf or go to the gym or why why why? 😉 )
We’ve had fevers and coughs for the last week. And a big case of Mom apathy. 🙋♀️
While my first inclination is always to feel like we have to keep going and doing the “work” and sticking to the co-op schedule…
👉I’m here to remind myself (and you) that the ability heal and rest is a major perk of homeschool life.
And you know what happened even with no official “schooling”?
👩🍳Lots of meals were created from scratch including homemade pasta and banana bread
✍️#ClassicalConversations challenge work was done at their own schedule
🧹Kids cleaned the kitchen and picked up for sick people slack
🦮Walks were taken, dogs were fed, and the car was washed
📚Boggle was played and books were read for fun
Yes, there was also a lot of TV watching when feeling yucky…
🔹But life kept going.
🔹And it’s okay.
Winter means sickness no matter how much we would like to avoid it.
Allow yourself to hibernate and take care of yourself and just live.
