Celebrating My Kid's Birthday
Yesterday marked nine years for my little tree-climbing, compass-wielding, mountain-climbing, nature-loving, science-experimenting, electric-circuiting introverted kid. We celebrated early with a cake, gifts, and sweet siblings excited for his celebration.
It’s a daily struggle to teach them that we rejoice with those who rejoice, mourn with those who mourn. Not about “Why did he get it” “Life’s not fair”. Somehow, though, they understand birthdays. I need to remember that and figure out how to make every day more like that.
Happy birthday, Bud.
